John Bolsom of High Line Yachting Ltd turned to Cameron Forecourt’s fuelling solutions when he decided to upgrade the diesel fuelling facilities at all three of his boatyards located at Iver, Northolt and Cowley.

Each of the boat yards is extremely popular as they offer every facility to the boat owner on the Inland Waterways in the London area. John states,

‘We operate the three boatyard where there is a total of around 300 canal boats and additionally there is always passing traffic as well as fuel for the considerable number of boats sold on brokerage through our sister company Virginia Currer Marine Ltd. Refuelling the boats is essential to our customers. Ensuring we provide the fastest, safest and most accurate fuel pump possible adds value to our portfolio.’

They dispense around 75,000 litres of fuel per year which is quite a large volume when small pleasure boats only take a small amount at a time and on a seasonal basis.
John explained why he chose Cameron Forecourt to supply his new fuel pumps.

‘I found them on the internet and after making a quick call, the sales engineer Clive came and met with us after our enquiry and took the trouble to discuss our needs and his proposals. Indeed, he visited us within the week and was so helpful suggesting the right fuel pump and providing a cost within our budget. We simply didn’t feel the need to get quotes from anyone else after speaking to a couple of other suppliers on the phone who didn’t seem that interested at all.’

Previous dispensers were second hand machines, ex garage forecourts, and it was becoming difficult to service and repair the pumps. Cameron Forecourt installed a brand-new C Series diesel pump that is compliant with the new Measurement Instrument Directive (MID) so High Line can legally resell fuel to the boating public. Customers using the new diesel pump instantly noticed how clean, simple and modern the new pump was to use. In particular they found the extended retractable 20-meter fuel hose very effective in being able to supply the diesel tank of a canal boat berthed some distance from the pump or to fill cans adjacent to the pump itself.

‘It’s amazing how such a small change can create such a big improvement,’ commented John.

This is the second pump to be installed for High Line Yachting with the third on the calendar for later in the year. Cameron Forecourt are more than happy to work on phased multi-site installation projects such as this. The company can accept payments for such works one site at a time such as is being done at High Line Yachting.

Cameron Forecourt are proud to support smaller operators as well as large and understand the need for cost breakdowns and phased payments to avoid having a detrimental impact of a customer’s cash flow.
